Cyrus Baygents aka ‘Bayge’ is a bassist, composer and producer born and raised in Washington, D.C. He is a graduate of Duke Ellington School of the Arts, where he was named the Instrumental Department’s most outstanding student in 2023, and honed his craft through the citywide Blues Alley Youth Orchestra and Washington Jazz Arts Institute.

He is currently studying Performance and Production at Berklee College of Music in Boston.

Jazz adjacent music with catchy melodies and collective improvisation are some of what to expect at his live performances, which draw from his roots in jazz, rock and R&B. 

These influences are also reflected in his own albums of original music, produced under the artist name Bayge: Reflections (2021) and Haze (2023), as well as in his more recent work.

A versatile musician (contrabass, electric bass, key bass, guitar) and bandleader, he has recorded and performed across the U.S. with various artists across a wide range of genres.
